well todays plan was to go to the bank, get paint and get the front of the 6 hole doen...
missed the bank by 15 mins (who closes at noon on a saturday?!), did manage to get paint (and a sanding soponge so i can also refinnish the shelf i picked up for my livingroom) and came home...
had lunch which was some of the 16 bean soup...but instead of having it with bread i threw in 1/2 a cup of the rice id made the other day and YUMMY! the rice realy made it something else ya know?!
then got changed and headed outside...
5 mins later i came back in...its just too cold for this little winter wussy, my fingers were not interested in doing ANY work today...its officially 37 degrees but the "real feel" is 32 and that is definatly below my fingers pain threshold...there stilll throbbing lol.
so that becommed the plan for tomorrow, its supposed to hit a high of 70 tomorrow with only a 20% chance of rain/t-storms so those seem like pretty good odds to me...gonna make all the frames for the fronts, paint them then while there drying ill paint the insides of the bottom 3 holes, back and second coat the frames for the front, then back to second coat the inside of the top 3 holes, by then the fronts should be dry and ready for hardware cloth and the fronts can go on
i also need to make sure i scoop out bluebell and acorns cages tomorrow...i need a large bucket or something so i can collect all that poop so i can easily dump it on the front bed when its time to start planting that up. curb appeal is th name of the game for my first none veggie plantings, the front of the house is so nekkid and theres just a couple of sad little hostas out there so its getting an overhaul...lots of part-full shade plantings (the hosta will stay in and get reused) the front of the house is mostly shaded so i need to get as much color as possible with shade lovers,
right now the plan is a climbing hydrangea and a couple of clematis (i origioanlly wnated climbing roses but theres not remotly enough sun), a pink parfait or 2 hydrangeas, a couple of oakleaf dwarf hydrangea, astibile, hosta and coral bells, im hoping to intersperse some mint, and lemon thyme in there too, im also thinking day lilles (some do ok in part shade) and as many dafodills and iris that i can fit inbetween.
i looked over this morning and it looks liek my neihgbor across from me has daffy-dillies trying to come up already...its not even february yet!
ive got to get to walmart on monday for seed starting supplies too...
spring fever big time!
