Plants--easy money for some!

I've done that with monkey grass and iris'. I've saw 1 gal. monkey grass go at Lowes for $10.

Another good point coming up

do not under price your work and plants.

great idea jackie
if you have tons of rich soil now from your efforts, potting your own plants should be easy. go for it!!!!

nothing like good soil! :)

 I just keep chuckling about the posts about Texas Mistletoe and California mistletoe.
In Texas they shoot the limb off the tree and in California, it protected. Says a lot about the differences in personalities in the states right there.

Texas--shoot 'em up.
CA--touch it and be fined.

You ain't kidding punkin. The most common little landscaping plants are getting very pricey at the stores. And for ornamental grass....good racket going on..LOL

Our mistletoe is reachable from the ground, way way too much of it. I picked some before Xmas and tied it up with curl ribbon and some glass ornaments and plastic poinsettias. I got $5 a bunch and sold out! People were really glad to have some to take to parties as a gift.

I have sold lots of plants over the years, we made a living at it at the Farmer's market for a long time. One hint is to make sure your potting mix has enough peat or vermiculite to offset the weight of sand or compost or soil. Transporting pots is heavy work. One of the easiest money makers for us was aloe. Get a few Mama plants sprouting the babies to re-pot and sell like crazy!

Zen made a great point also.

use plants that have babies and divide easy. no from seed work etc. involved....let the plants do the work for ya!!!!

strawberries around here any more are crazy 6 bucks for a tiny bare root,. Maybe this year I should pot some and take them to the local market with me.
