Love the gift basket!!!!!!!!!!

Um, just curious, are you going to be selling those gift baskets? Or are these what you are putting together as gifts for Christmas?

Thanks, they are really fun to make.

Mostly, right now they are gift baskets. I'm using them and other products as a "hook". Give them a small handmade gift for some reason or other and hopefully they will come back for more.

I asked my DH's office mgr. what she thought I should price that particular basket for (she's very frugal about this kind of stuff). She said $19.99 I was thinking more around $12.00. It has 5 different products and I thought maybe about $3 per product. I have maybe $1.50 in packaging.

But, all that's probably down the road abit, since I have only started and maybe given 2-3 samples.

I do that with my jellies and soaps. Give a little "gift" to someone and then they are clammering for more!

My craft room is a mixture of lavender, rose and peppermint scents right now. But, it beats dewey fresh dog and dust of bunny scents any day.

I will post more on my journal about these folks, however I wanted to mention to you that I met a couple who were selling their natural homemade gift baskets last week. They had some small, medium and like yours, some large ones. The large ones were selling for $25 each, I purchased 4 to give as gifts, which I will add some jams as well.

I'd pay 25 bucks for your gift basket if you were selling at some type of show/market.

Thanks, MP. That would be a great profit. I'm going to try to make up a few over the next few months. Then, when I set up to sell my vegetable plants, I'll take them along, too.

Clearing out the garden - such a sign of autumn's approach for me.

I am planting Swiss Chard in a planter, in hopes that we can have some more later this year.

Today is my dad's 84th birthday!! Thanks be to God, he still enjoys great health and a busy life. Every year he puts out about a half acre garden, and every year he says he getting too old for such a big garden. He was up bright and early this morning, headed out to Hardees with all his coffee drinking buddies. Right there in that booth, they talk about all the problems of the world and solve most of them. To keep busy in the winter time, he makes bluebird boxes and such in his shop. There are very few bluebirds without a home around here.

Yesterday, it rained about 4". There's a good chance of rain every day for the next week. It's very unusual for us this time of year. I've mowed 5 times in the past month and it needs it badly again.

All this rain is making the conditions impossible for DH to get wood to the papermill. You can't slog heavy equipment through sloppy mud. But, the good news is they are going to be open for pine pulpwood next week instead of closing as planned. I hope this weather clears so we can get some loads out.

I've been working on more home "spa" products and have 2 more gift baskets made up. While scouring the isles of Goodwill yesterday, I found 2 small milk bottles. I think these will look great in a basket with "Silk Milk Bath" in them. I also found a cute soap mold with ladybugs, frogs and butterflies.

I sold a yard of material on Ebay yesterday for over $9.00. It was 6 1/2 yards that I found at Goodwill for $4.00 for the whole thing.
