OH, during all this excitement of plumbed water, I plumb forgot to tell ya'll about our auction experiences the past few days - and our deals!
On Saturday we attended an auction with our Amish friends. Actually, they had hired us to take them to Cabela's in WVa. and on the way home we found an auction that was sort of like a small estate auction. This older couple were moving into assisted living, and nearly all of their possessions were sold off.
They were auctioning off 100 year old grandfather clock, china cabinets from the 30's or 40's, homemade lace table cloths - pretty much whatever this elderly couple had gathered up in the last 60 or so years.
There were even TWO Singer TREADLE sewing machines. I wanted one of those so badly!! The bidding started, and I didn't know what a good price on it would be, but when no one was bidding and they asked for $10, our Amish friend started bidding FOR ME because he had a number and we didn't - ended up I paid $25 for a six drawer treadle sewing machine!!!!
It has 6 drawers and the drawers were LOADED with sewing accessories - thread on WOODEN spools, lace, zippers, buttons, ribbons, needles, etc.
Now, it needs a new belt, and they told me I can get the belt for it in Holmes County at and Amish store. I plan to go ASAP.
My other deal of the day at the auction was a solid Walnut end table with a drawer from the '50's for $3

It looks great in my living room!!!
And for $1 I managed to get 3 hand made lace table runners! I put one on my new end table and two on my cedar chest.
Then yesterday at the livestock auction, I got 6 in lay Light Brahma hens for $2.75 each!!!!!!!!!!!
And then last night, plumbed water!!!
We are so blessed!!!!!!!
