Restoring/rescuing a 100+ year old shed. Am I nuts?

You can SEE the dang thing now lol Please excuse/ignore the rubbish outside, I need to get it all out before we have it taken away. I started clearing the bushes and other stuff from the side, so you can see the door on the right here. I need to dig out the soil and crap there to lower the entrance to the point where I can walk in and out and fit a door, of course. Inside I'm down to the wall being higher than my head in places.

The hard work is paying off too. I found something nice and miraculously intact, unchipped and 99.99% undamaged. Tucked in the tree roots along with some rusted tin cans. I did some Google searches, but nothing came up.

Isn't it? I'm thrilled to bits with it! :) So surprised when I found it, I just hoped like mad it's not broken and it wasn't, I was so surprised! It seems quite old, from what bits of info I could find so far.

I'm amazed it's in one piece and undamaged. I've spent some time today clearing out the area under and around those roots in preparation for cutting them and it's a nightmare in there. There is a stone and one metal object that I can see that got swallowed by the roots. I've never seen anything like it. I'm going to have to cut the roots to get those out.

I cleared out a lot of compost, too many bottles and rusted cans to count and some messed up metal buckets, a chamber pot ( ) and loads of stones today… Made good progress in there.

Sooo very cool! I bet the more you do, the more incentive you have to continue. Your landlord is going to be shocked! What does your son think about all this?
And that's a beautiful bowl.

Oh absolutely :) I went out yesterday evening and just stood and looked at everything and I feel good seeing how far I've come. I estimate I'm down to floor level or close in roughly 1/3 of the shed now. A few more work days like the last two and I'll be done.

DS thinks it's cool what I'm doing. He's not terribly interested in the project, or helping, but he likes the cool bottles and stuff I found so far.
