Restoring/rescuing a 100+ year old shed. Am I nuts?

I am constantly amazed at the stuff you find in there! That shed musta been used for a dump for a whole lotta years! But, just look at the progress you've made!!

That shed was used as a dump for stuff many years ago. Those Bovril jars (you can see a few of them lying around in the pics) are 80+ years old. I found an old-fashioned razor, a pocket knife, assorted parts of cars(?) or farm equipment, quite a few kettles… Sadly all rusted and damaged pretty bad. And so very many bottles. Some of those are pretty cool. It was insanely hard work, clearing it out, but it was interesting and very rewarding. If you look at the walls, the shed was full up to and over the first 4 rows of blocks. That was a LOT of stuff.

Amazing! Hopefully that tree stump isn't hiding a car engine or something like that. As massive as that stump is, and as many things as you've pulled out of there, I would no longer be surprised!

After pulling out a goat skull and an antique dish from under the tree… NOTHING would surprise me any more! ;)

You can't see in the pics, but I have cleared some of the space under there already. So far, apart from the above mentioned, bottles, tins…

I hope your ghost likes chickens. It will be interesting to see if the chickens avoid the cold spot.

You have made some bodacious progress! It won't be long now and you will have it all cleaned out.

That poor tree; it's been trying against all odds for quite a long time and it never really had a chance.

The odds just got stacked against it even more. I got the loan of a saw that is eating those roots like they're butter sticks. Man, I love this thing! I'm going to buy myself one.

I can hardly wait to see the tree once it's out. Looks like a bicycle under it (??) --- Sure it's a mess to cut with all the "stuff" entangled and you can't even see it first. Can sure ruin a saw. :caf

There is a bicycle wheel stuck in the root, but the rest of the bike came out already.. or most of it anyway. There is part of a bed frame stuck in there still and some other metal things. I'm going to investigate it better tomorrow and see what I can clean out from under it and where and how we can safely cut it. It's going to make a huge difference, getting the tree out. It's taking up so much space in there!
