rodeogirl's journey to being self-sufficient

Santa's little helper. We started a new tradition, Silas picked out a toy for Toys for Tots. He picked out the toy and put it in the box.

Great tradition. Nothing than teaching a little one that it's just as important to give as to receive! Good call, Mom!

It's good to instill those memories and values before peer pressure takes over.

Heh... I remember a Christmas back when DS#2 was a toddler; I kept finding one of his dirty socks filled with Legos or little cars or army men under the tree. I finally tasked him with it, and he broke down in tears because he "didn't have any presents to put under the tree". He had apparently seen me wrapping and depositing some of the presents. I felt a right heel for yelling at him. So I took him to the Dollar Tree and we spent a couple of dollars on little gifts which he and I wrapped at home and then he proudly tucked them under the tree.

It's all good I just got busy with the holidays and my boyfriend getting sick.

Nice way to end the day a glass of wine and watching Alaska the last frontier to get idea's for my own homestead.

Hope your love gets better soon! I've heard of that program but didn't watch it. Most likely because it's not on the channels I have access to. I'm getting homestead ideas here, reading about everyone's adventures :)
