No. While I have a gmail account - I rarely use it. I'm old school and still use Yahoo mail and I NEVER stay logged in. My work email is always open at work, but we have really strong filters there. However, there's a connection in there somewhere... pretty sure about that. :hu
I don't want to worry you, but I'd suggest you switch to a Gmail account rather. Two friends of mine have Yahoo accounts and both got hacked, one more than once, the other I got a spammy email from the other day, when I asked him about it, he told me he hasn't used that account in ages and it wasn't from him. Gmail is so secure, if I don't log into the account for too long, I get a security alert letting me know the account got logged into and when I moved here from S.A. I couldn't get into my second (also Gmail) any more. They noticed I'm in a different country and trying to log in and locked me out.

This too shocks me as someone who just graduated in '98 and NO ONE I went to school with would have dreamed to do this yet in the 20 years since this has become a "thing" I just don't get it. What has changed so fundamentally in our world that kids now think this is the thing to do??? What or how do we correct this failure in our teaching of our kids to stop this from happening? We pulled our kiddo out of public school a couple years ago due to the school not meting her needs but now I am so thrilled knowing that everyday when I come to work she is home safe at home doing online school.

I was an elementary school teacher, and I wished they would allow that. There were several of us who were ready to volunteer if the laws changed.

That's creepy!

There was a school shooting threat up in VT this week. They arrested the guy. Glad VTstate police are more on top of things than the FBI.

The more I think about it.... I charge my phone from my computer at work. At home, my phone is my hotspot. Looks like the phone is the link. Geeze. I am not a techie or a conspiracy theorist - but it sure looks like there's a connection.

People do school shooting because it gets such huge publicity.

Way back when, the media started covering teen suicides intensely. It was intended to discourage others. Instead they there was an epidemic of teen suicides. Turns out suicidality is contagious.

I argue school shootings are contagious too (for those so pathologically inclined). I sincerely hate the news media. They make us weak and vulnerable.

The week after Sandyhook a man in my town called the suicide help line. Said he wanted to shoot himself. They talked him off the ledge giving him the name to a counselor to see in the morning but his phone pinged near two schools that morning instead. EVERY school in the district went on immediate lock down. Kids were still on buses being dropped off so they rerouted them to the civic center where they were to stay indefinitely. Turned out, he was a single father and dropping his kid off at school like any other parent. He never intended to harm anyone BUT because of his call the night prior, and the shooting that had happened the week prior in another state, they acted unsure whether it would be a repeat. I would rather THAT happen, than them wait it out.

I came from a country where violent crime is common, but these school shootings really shock me. I don't understand how and why a person can do something like that? And I cannot imagine how the parents feel, the ones that had kids in those affected schools and the rest, worrying about sending their kids to school and their safety. It's heartbreaking.
