Things are going really well around here at the moment. Firstly, it's warmed up finally. Now, that's a relative thing, of course. It's now about -10 C, which probably seems horribly cold to some of you, but for us, that's normal for winter and it beats the heck out of -40!
Secondly...I got the PICC line out! What a relief it was, too. It was totally painless, which is a far cry from the nightmare of putting it in. It's still really itchy around where the line was inserted, but that will improve now too, since I don't have a bandage on there anymore. The irritation was me reacting to the adhesive in the bandages.
Thirdly, and probably most important for me, harmony has returned to Mountainport Farms. After 3 weeks of escorting Fynnigan outside to do his business, we finally let him and Smiley interact loose in the yard. As I had hoped (and prayed desperately for) it was a total non-issue. Fynn really didn't want to go anywhere near Smiley, and I can't say I blame him. Smiley respected that and didn't do more than sniff the air as Fynn went by. Fynn and Harry, the younger male LGD played hard for quite a while and you could just tell Fynn was having a ball getting rid of all that pent up energy. It's hard for a high energy breed like an Aussie to be confined to the house all the time.
I don't think I'll be letting Fynn out by himself yet, but at least now he can come out and play with Harry when I'm doing chores.
