Signs of spring in your area?

I heard the spring peepers yesterday!
Of course, the temp has just been dropping since, so they are now silent....

There is nothing like the coming of Spring

The daffodils are coming up and about to bloom.

Hear that Kaycei and clstratton, the daffodils are about to bloom.

Oh, you know what daffodils mean in a week don't you? Something to do with flower girls.


The red maples are budding. Thunderstorms.

As I posted in my journal, the skunk cabbage blossoms are out, they were there two weeks ago, poking through, but now they're in full flower. That to me is the first sign of spring. Now today is March 1st, and it's officially my first day of Spring!

Speaking of skunks..... they are now in mating season, evidenced by the many killed skunks on the highways~also possums! They must like to do their courtin' on the smooth surface!

To me....spring isn't here until I can smell freshly mowed lawn for the very first time. That is about 2 months away yet for us.
