We have the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound helping keep us warmer as well. We're not too high in elevation. Only 729 feet. On the wet side of the Cascades which also helps. We're also mostly out of the Olympics rain shadow so we get more rain than Tacoma.

And sun? Do you get to see sun?

Sometimes. If a blue moon happens.

It was a weird summer. We saw sun the whole thing. Normal weather is 2 months of summer with regular rain. This summer we went without measurable rain for about 3 months.

the days are getting shorter and we're past the equiniox so ... i think of it this way, in 90 days we'll be after the shortest day of the year and on the heading back towards the upside of things again. this kind of thinking gets me through winter. i don't really mind winter. i like all four seasons. now that we have finally have gotten the roof leak figured out i don't mind this rain we're having much either - it gives me a good reason to shell beans and look at all the pretties and to see what nature has come up with.
