SSDreamin Blessings and curses

I think you just need some hugs, if I had days like what you have I would not know my name. :hugs
Thanks Buff! You are such a thoughtful young man - care to give lessons to my about-to-be (but already know-it-all) teenager?

We all have times like that. How many times have we seen someone broke down by the side of the road, and drive past, for instance, especially if you're a woman! I did stop once though. I really felt bad for the guy. He was trying to change a tire w/one of the standard jacks that come w/a car, the shoulder of the road was wet and wouldn't support the jack, it was drizzling, and he was dressed for work. I had the jack I use for my horse trailer, so I prayed for safety, pull up, and used my jack to jack up his car.

My second weird thing was a feeling of missed (opportunity). I am ashamed of myself for it too. At the store, I got in line behind an older gentleman. I glanced at what was on the belt (is that wrong? I do that a lot :P ) and saw lots of veggies, some fresh fruit, milk and bread. Healthy stuff, except for the small package of marked down doughnuts from the bakery. Hey, I admit I checked the discount rack myself. The cashier told him the total. He pulled out a debit card (it had a bank logo on it, and I knew it was a debit card because the cashier said so) to pay. The cashier said "I'm sorry Sir, it says it says insufficient funds for this debit card." The man became flustered, maybe more like embarrassed. I wanted to say "Put that on my bill, would you please?" but I hesitated, unsure. I have become so (calloused? hardened?) by people buying foolish junk, usually with a bridge card. Sorry, I know that's rude to say. He gave her a credit card and asked her to put it on there, she swiped it, and within 15 seconds my wishy-washy-ness made my opportunity to be a decent fellow person in this world vanish. I am absolutely disgusted with myself! I have never felt so compelled to do something in my life, and feel very strongly that my hesitation will be called into account when I meet my maker. Weird.
I know this feeling. missed opportunity to do right in a situation. don't worry tho in the end he got and paid for his food. NOW if the CC card was denied you could have jumped in....but at that point he took care of it himself.

You know SS I like the way you write.

Thanks you guys!

Funny Farm, I do feel better today! I think I've drank enough water to pass most of the gunk out of my system :woot

Deb, I admire you stopping. I think that I have lost my trust in my fellow human beings, which is sad :/ I see something, I WANT to act, but then a list of ulterior motives runs through my head! In the situation you described, I would wonder if he's faking it to rob somebody, or car jack somebody, or murder somebody :P I make a mental note to get a clear description of him so that, if I see a story on the local news about a car jacking/robbery/murder, I can 'do my duty' and call in an accurate description of the person I saw. How sad is that?

Farmer Chick, I think I base too much on my past. I have paid for groceries I truly couldn't afford, with a credit card I wasn't so sure I could pay once the bill came in :/ Again though, it goes back to the huge trust issue I have these days. Shameful.
I skimmed the part you quoted, immediately found two errors :P , then read that you like the way I write! :lau What? With all those errors? :gig

And :ya Today, my brooder greeted me with yet ANOTHER broken, stinky egg :sick OK, I get it! Brooder experiment, epic fail! All eggs will be removed and we will return to our regularly scheduled programming... just as soon as DH gets home tonight to do it! :lau

 not grammer

I like the way your writing flows. just seems fun to read or something lol

Personally, I love typos on forums. They can be so funny, especially if it's IS a word, just not the one you meant, or it can be pronounced as a word. I don't know how many times my fingers have gone faster than my brain, and I've typed hores instead of horse. So far, I've caught it every time, but that doesn't mean I always will. Here's one from a kid. I really like the one line about the mom and dad! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...4386295.105971.205344452828349&type=1&theater

:lau That is so funny! He tried so hard too, poor kid! :lau :hit drip drip (they don't have one, so that is my "I laughed so hard I cried and might've even peed myself" icon :P )

I've been gone for a couple of days and it sounds like you have been through the wringer recently! How is today going for you? I hope life has simmered down a bit. And God always give lots of opportunities to do His work!

Thanks!

My brother used to be disappointed when I called him - he said my letters made him feel like he was right there with me, and he could read them over again when he needed a good laugh :D
