Sufficient Self's Bible Study Group

I'm neutral about what we study, though it seems inevitable that any discussion about what is happening in the here and now be relevant to a discussion about Revelations....it just seems to come back to that.

I just like studying the Bible with y'all, I'm not too particular as to just what we study! :)
Yeah Revelation gets talked about nowadays no matter  I second that last line though ;) You all are great study partners!

Yepp ill be willing to study any chapter u all choose...all the books in the bible r fine with me:D

I had a brain storm last night and came up with some stuff we can do, and its a Pre-Revelations study. Basically studying the chapters in the Bible that pertain to Revelations. Or the ones I think do.....

1. Creation
2. Noah's Ark
3 Isaiah Chapter 66 Verses 1 thru 8

There are definitely more I just have to find them...........

Whats everyone think?

The last time we (our congregation) went through Revelation, it took 15 months. From March of 2009 to June of 2010! There is a lot of stuff in there!

I am happy to study anywhere in the book.

I need to catch up on reading the posts (I read ch 3 but never posted) but I just wanted to say to Wannabefree that I saw your post about the training and I will be praying for you.

I will tell you ... I had an opportunity to start teaching at a private school last September. I took it because I needed the income, and because I KNOW God led me to the church I am in, though I've been wondering why I am there, month after month. The teaching job came from someone at church.

I was a little hesitant for reasons similar to what you mentioned. I was afraid I couldn't handle it emotionally. And I must say, some days it is a challenge and sends me to my knees. Maybe a good place to be. But it has drawn me closer to God, and I must say there is something good to KNOW that I'm making a difference in those kids' lives. I've seen them change and grow, and I know that I am giving them truth. (I get upset by hearing everyone tell the kids they will go to heaven if they are "good" ... It seems to be easy, or else a way of making them BE good, but it's not the TRUTH.). But to see them grow in so many ways, and I truly love them too. There have been some very blessed moments.

I guess I'm saying that, even if it does turn out to be emotionally hard, that doesn't mean it might not also bring blessing and bring you closer to God.

I will be praying for you though. :)

I'm going to tell you right now that if we do a study on creation, it will take us months to get thru it! But, I can guarantee y'all will learn a lot! I've done a ton of studying on the subject, and have all kinds of books on the subject, as well as a ton of other resources. And, not all of it is put out by creationists.

Once when my husband was teaching Jr. High boys, it took him 3.5 years to teach the first 10 chapters of Genesis!
