Sufficient Self's Bible Study Group

Thanks Bee! I agree that each person should decide for themselves. I just try to understand the "why." Mom won't even discuss it with me :hu Niecey left crying the other night because the other niece wanted to watch the movie, and had to go home to watch it because niecey couldn't. She felt ditched, and wanted to watch the movie :( It really bothered me, but what can ya do?! I see it as just as harmless as Spongebob or Cinderella myself. Mom apparently doesn't, and I just don't get it. I'm tryin to get it!! I still don't though :hide

Its more of a mirror effect I believe........you look in and see this.....she looks into this.........

Must be similar to the shopping gene I didn't get either huh Buff Puff? :lau

While we are on the subject of media and its effects, what does everyone think about reality shoes such a Jersey Shore?

Not quite enough reality to make me flinch ;) I do believe that too much TV is a bad thing anyway, no matter the show. Idle minds and such..

Just saying...psychic abilities run strong in our family...and me and my children have had to fight these so called 'gifts' because they are not gifts at all, but are passed down from generation to generation. It is not cool when your 5 year old can see peoples auras and such...not going there with the whole story, just be careful what you allow in your door, it can turn into something not so fun really quickly.
Maybe your mom has had such experiences...WBF, and is trying her best to protect you all.

Quite true on both points. I think they DO send bad messages though...

Psychic ability? Not gifts? You just keep bringing more questions  My brother has...something...knows things before they happen, not clearly, but gets the gist. I have never thought it wasn't a gift. A former pastor told him he was evil because of it :/ Daniel was able to tell Nebachadnezzar his dream and then interpret it to him. :hu Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

Daniel was a saved man with a true dedication to God, his gift was directly given by God...kind of like God will sometimes get me to make a quilt for a stranger, and it comes to me in bits and spurts, but it is His design and it suits the stranger perfectly and Blessed them. All fortune tellers believe thier 'gift' is from God, but it isn't. My grandmother was a professed Christian but used to read cards and tealeaves...telling ones fortune is totally against Biblical rules. My mother was born with a veil over her eyes...
Satan also poses as the angle of light...we have to be very very careful where we go.
Remember the Sunday school songs "Be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear...'
Anyway my family and I went through a nightmare...all because I saw the wrong thing as a 'gift' Such a nightmare that I will not talk about it.

Your brother is not evil...but he better not try to 'improve' on that gift.
