This is why. There will be people there to try to incite, to try to tarnish the movement with violence. We need to resist those taunts. We need to stand strong against the forces that are trying to pull our great country into socialism. We need the strength of the American people to tell Washington enough, we're not going down the road they are paving. The America I grew up in is the one I want to leave to my children and my grandchildren, they deserve no less.
I went to the Tea Party in Montpelier today. It was wonderful! The Tea Party lasted from 12 noon until 2 PM. This is a tough time during he week to get people out at a rally because they are working. I was pleased at the turn out. We are a small state (population wise) and this states residents are normally liberal in their votes. I was plesantly surprised to find that there were around 400 or so people that showed up for the party with their signs, their children and grandchildren in tow and their love of their country but not the politicians, which was obvious from their conversations.
