picked the last round of tomatoes for canning today. about 100lbs (5 buckets of which 1 bucket was discarded due to rot or animal damage).

i'll be washing, sorting and canning some of these today but not sure how many i'll do until i get them done.

considering the weather and other issues i'm glad for this season and what it has provided so far and also glad to see the end of these tomatoes as it's rather tough on my legs and back - at least now i'm in better shape than i was a month ago so it's not quite the same. i can doooo eeettt! :)

what i thought was the last picking of tomatoes wasn't. since my sister arrived for her visit and wanted to move around she helped Mom pick tomatoes.

so that meant that last night instead of doing a smaller batch of canning we had enough tomatoes for another 15 quarts, plus now i have yet another round of tomatoes ripening on the counter to deal with (i thought we'd be done!). oh well, i'm fine with whatever happens but i'm thinking a lot of them will be given away or eaten fresh.
