our friend (that made the christmas box pictured above) passed away on NYE. :( RIP dear friend.

i'm glad we were able to visit her when we did. she didn't seem like she was doing that poorly when we visited her so i was surprised to hear she'd gone.

no new mice tracks in the snow for the past several days. hopefully they've been discouraged enough and i can get out this week in the warmer break we'll have to get the gravel stirred up and piled up enough to also discourage any new ones from starting up in the same spot.

i was so excited about taking out the trash this morning that i woke up almost four hours early. eventually it did get taken out, the snow was shovelled and then a nap happened. when i woke up from that nap i realized i did not have to take recycling out so i went out and brought it all back in.

one of those morning daze... :) a 2nd nap put things much righter. :)

down to the last few boxes of beans to shell out (all from the same garden). i'm not expecting too many more surprises but they can still be in there. i've found a few this year that are interesting enough to contemplate planting them out to see what happens next, except as usual i have a ton of others to work with from previous years and all my bean projects.

the beans are shelled and now it is down to sorting. while it wasn't a large harvest (for many reasons including many that are also my own fault) i did get enough of the beans i was most interested in and also some new ones to work with (like, yes, i do need more projects after all :) ) so on we go into the next bean season...

today was cold and sunny and some snow on the driveway did get me outside for some shovelling and fresh air.

other things going ok. a lot more busy than i'd like to be... at least we've calmed down from things breaking all the time and that has greatly improved my overall mood and happiness. :)

i've continued my financial plans and things are going well there - being very careful...

Boo for snow though... I'm glad, for the most part, I can enjoy it through other folks pictures, lol. That's enough for me.
Yes!! 100%. Funny how it was fun when I was 10, dreaded now. I still think it's pretty but, one day's enough. I could tolerate 2 days if no animals to tend. 🤣
