LOL. There was no hope. I was forced into research at a young age.
Wow, I would've made a fortune when I was a kid. My parents just said, "Look it up." All the time. We had built in bookshelves at both houses that I grew up in. Dad made 'em. We needed lots and lots of bookshelves!

There was "look it up" and there was "we don't have the info at home, prize to whoever finds out first".

:D

Oddly we did NOT have a lot of books in the house. I think my dad grew up military and then was military and just a habit of not owning much. We always had library books around but very few owned.
