I need to do that with my rabbits as well. They waste a lot of hay. While it was so cold I didn't mind there being extra hay in there, but now that it is warming up I need to find a more thrifty way.

But goats are SO wasteful of hay it is hard to fault rabbits. But I'm sure using less hay would be a more thrifty way of feeding them!

Same with mine. But we used these recycled metal storage cases as our hutches, and they are really huge as hutches go. And I wanted them to have a way to warm up in there since body heat will not fill the space as easily. I gave them boxes and lined the sides with hay. But as the season progresses I think they will enjoy having a breeze blow through there instead. Is there a way to make a homemade hay hanging rack? I have some bendy metal wire I was thinking of just making a clump and hanging it from, does anyone have a great cheap idea for that?

Wasting less hay would certainly be more thrifty.
