Awww...poor puppy! I hope she is ok and no blockages.

Took Dussa to the vet today. She ended up having surgery - she had apparently eaten a piece of a towel ! ! ! It can't have tasted good. It was at the bottom of her stomach with a string going into her intestines - Dr got them out and said she should be fine. She has to stay til Wednesday or Thursday.

Oh honey, I'm so glad they got it out of her before it got too serious! We have labs so I feel your pain. I'm constantly fishing something out of their mouths, we've been lucky so far.

We will definitely have to keep a closer eye on what is in the yard that she can get in her mouth. Talked to her Dr this morning and she is doing good - they are gonna start giving her little bits of water and see how she does. She will have to stay tonight for sure - don't know yet when I'll get to bring her home

Oh my! Good thing you had her checked...poor thing.

I hope she has a speedy recovery and can come home soon.

Wow I havent posted on my journal in over a month !! Lets see . . .
Dussa came home and has recovered she still eats anything she can . . last week there was plastic hanging out of her butt!!

We had 18 of rain in December and since part of my propery is low I still have water standing on one side of the house. We werent able to use the drive way or park where we are supposed to until last weekend. I was sick for Christmas, but it was nice the kids had a good Christmas and that is what counts.

We discovered on Friday that my freezer had died so I have been cooking and freezing the meat that was thawed.

Last night Dussa decided to chase my guineas. I ended up having to put her in a crate until dark after they had gone to roost. That was a first I dont know what got into her and I hope there isnt a repeat performance

I read everyones journals and a lot of the other posts but rarely post as I dont feel qualified or that I can say something someone else hasnt already said.

Yesterday we got 4 inches of rain and it is raining again this morning! The weather man is fired he said 1 - 2 inches of rain, I think I got someone elses rain. :/ I am glad it is a little warmer but I cant really work outside or hang out bedding in the rain.
I now have 3 guineas apparently the one that Dusa got a hold of is gone. I dont believe she actually killed it cause there wasnt any marks just missing feathers and it couldnt fly.
Making a wish list for my income tax refund At the top of this list is dirt to stop the pond from forming in my driveway, fence posts to finish the front of our property, some tires for the trucks (probably only 2 each) and hopefully start my carport.
I am also dreaming about spring I want to get some ducks and geese this year DH made his usual comment about having too many birds, but hes still a city boy. I am going to try gardening again this year just smaller and in raised beds. Hopefully it will be more manageable and Ill have better luck.

I'm already dreaming about Spring, too, so I hear ya on that!

I think maybe you got my rain. We're supposed to be having rain today, but none yet. It's a bit cloudy, and cool, but not raining.

We are expecting alot of rain too. They actually said a years worth all in one week .....for us that means about 8 inches. Should be a messy week!

I thhink geese sound great but I think they woudl be too loud for me. I had issues with the ducks we had for only a few months. Every morning up at 5:30 to let me know they needed to see me
