You might still get a broody to do the work.
I set guinea eggs last year in my incubator, a week later I had two broody hens so the eggs got split between them and they finished up for me It worked out well for all.

Now if I can get the guinea's to shut up for 5 minutes I'll be happy as a clam!

Found them on craigslist about 35 miles away - first time I've seen any posted for sale that were close enough to go get them.
They are New Zealand mixes with giant breed blood - that's how the lady had them listed. The black one was in with the buck for the last 3 days so hopefully she's bred. The white one was born on 12/28 so she isn't quite ready to be bred. The father of these looked to be mostly New Zealand.

Guess the biggest project for the weekend will be building these girls a home

You probably already know this, but rabbits need separate cages. If you are raising babies especially. Just thought I would toss that out just in case. Some people try to house them together, but unless they have a BIG yard or something they will usually end up fighting.

They are nice healthy looking bunnies. The New Zealand is a commercial meat breed so they should have some really tasty little bunnies.

Thanks - They will have their own cages, they are only together because we just got them last night and hadn't been home very long with them.

The lady I bought them from had a nice set up and she took time to tell me and show me how she does things since it has been a loooong time since I had rabbits.

I am hoping to get some nice meat bunnies from these girls.

I don't mind you saying something and you shouldnt' be embarrassed at all - there are a lot of things I don't know and I learn alot from reading discussions on this forum. Thanks for lookin out for me and my critters

I moved the ducks, geese and rabbits outside yesterday Those ducks and geese sure do make a mess in the brooder. The rabbits have temp housing in with the ducks and geese - it's not my long term plan for them, but I had to use what I had and it will work for now.

I planted 2 apple trees last year - 1 anna and 1 granny smith - this is the anna now:

I don't think that little tree will support fully grown apples

This is one of my raised beds - I had to put the wire around it because as soon as I got it up and full of compost Dussa decided to dig it out

I have half of it planted with corn. The other half will be beans as soon as I get them out there. I have another bed - it's in the background with the picket fence covering it - that I want to put some tomatoe and pepper plants in.

Since I don't yet have fencing to give the chickens a bigger yeard - I dump them a wheelbarrow of grass clippings when we mow - they sure do appreciate it

I had decided to start butchering the meaties this weekend and of course rain showed up in the forcast :/ 30% today and 70% tomorrow I figured I could work on them today but as usual I think the weather gurus were wrong - it was starting to rain when I got up this morning and it's been thundering and raining since I'm waiting to see if it clears enough for me to get at least the biggest ones done today - even if I have to work on the back porch - which will be quite a challenge with the cats and the dogs.

Last night on my way out to turn on the light for the ducks/geese Dussa - in her attempt to catch the flashlight beam - knock my feet out from under me. I landed on my butt and my right elbow so my shoulder is very sore this morning. Maybe by the time the rain leaves it will be a little less sore cause picking up those big ol meaties is gonna hurt !
