I may be on the verge of murder... We are under the hurricane threat. It will give us high wind gusts and much much rain. Which is liable to bring down trees since the ground is pretty saturated already. We have lots of trees that might come down on the house, the chicken coop and the barn. Might. May, whatever. *Someone* around here is obsessing about getting hit by trees! What can we do about it now? I pointed out that if she was going to be worried about trees falling, the time to address that was 4 months ago, not one day before a hurricane. That wasn't appreciated.
I have been putting away and carrying and feeding and cleaning and getting extra water lugged and trying to pick up anything that could blow. The ONLY thing I asked to be done was to take the new tractor with the hay grabber and put a round bale inside the back door of the barn. Not through the front door since I have that end of the aisle stacked with shavings for the old mare who has to stay in a stall. I do not feel like spending time re-arranging the aisle so the tractor can go in the front door. Aside from that, the roll bar of the tractor is too high to allow it to go into the barn with out un-stepping it which we have never had to do yet. This request was made at 10:30 this morning. That wasn't an acceptable way to get the hay bale into the barn, apparently, because the last 2 1/2 hours have been spent figuring out how to unstep the roll bar so the tractor can go all the way into the barn. Which is not necessary, and it won't fit without moving bags of shavings anyway. Now we are deciding the york rake has to come off, too, since it is wider than the tractor. We haven't taken that off yet, either. I foresee absolutely nothing being accomplished today that I don't manage to do myself....
