I think it's 14 to get emancipated? I know I had a friend years ago who was emancipated at 15. She had her own apartment, and we hung out some until she got a little wild and I backed off from her.

I will be so glad when that crazy hookigan crawls back under her rock and disappears for another 6 months to a year!! Got woke to a text from my niece scared to death afraid her mother was going to whoop her. Supposedly niece changed the password on her mothers tablet and she couldn't get in it and was mad and threatening to spank her as soon as she got up out of bed. She thought my niece was still asleep, but she was texting me begging me to call her Memaw and tell her she didn't do it. Turns out idiots with hangovers don't know their tablet from anyone else's....she had nieces tablet...therefore the password wouldn't work. Sheer genius. I got a cussing for sticking my nose in her business and taking up for my niece. Because..ya know...it was my fault and all. Wonders never cease. If she had put her hands on my niece over that...ugh..if she doesn't go home I may go to jail yet..

I shouldn't say this, but I'm tempted to throw a few punches in your family's direction myself. That poor girl! My mom was an alcoholic, switched to prescription drugs not 3 years after finally coming off the drink. I washed my hands off her 3 years ago and in spite of some prompts and heavy hints from relatives flat out refuse to contact her. Don't need that crap in my or my son's life.

I really like the idea of you getting custody of your niece and getting her out of that mess once and for all. to you both!

Okay, enough negativity. I need to redirect this thread to something more positive now. I hate blasting negative crap. It's real life, but let's have a little sunshine shall we? These are pics from things my niece and I have done this summer that I hadn't been able to post before because I'm tech stoopid Our first NASCAR race...these are our favorite cars/drivers and our top pick won 1st place. He was also the youngest driver at just 15 years old. Harrison Burton...I think that is him in the Dex car...hard to see the thumbnails...

We had a local festival for products grown/ made in our area code. The festival was called 731Fest and it highlighted local business and state agencies. The animals were from wildlife resources booth.
