We had some sleet this evening, following rain most of the day. I saw on the news this evening that Britain is in chaos with their snow. Which is VERY little compared to what you guys are having to deal with!

Son asked my why I put garden tools in the back of the truck. I couldn't come up with a good answer... So I said a guy can hope can't he?

Like many, I'm have a couple teen nights & 30-40 days, then a couple 50, then 60 days....up, down, up, down. They say our "average" is low 40s for this time of year.

WELL -- The crappy part (besides dressing for it & frozen water) is that if it keeps up my plum tree will bloom and lose all the fruit for the year --- again!! Has happened last two years :(

Just get warm, settle and stop this mess. :old

YES, I want to work in a garden. Not a dead one.

I love your optimism @CrealCritter!

It's 27F here this morning, before the windchill, which is brutal. I was, as always, not dressed for it. We had snow late yesterday evening and I see a coating of it here and there still, but it was so wet from the rain, most of the snow melted as it came down.

Spring is on the way. The sun is making it's presence known for longer and longer each day. 3.5* below 0 this morning, after a bit of sunshine.

In spite of brutal cold, and single digits, I came home after working all day yesterday to find that the eggs in the nest boxes were not frozen. I've closed off all but 6 boxes, forcing them to share. 32 hens, 18 eggs. Coop temp at 4 PM 28*, outside temp high for the day 12*.

We had some shocking cold here last week, during and after the snow storm Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind chill factor was -15*F to -30*F! Then this week, we were a balmy 56*F on Sunday, and 63*F Monday. Temperatures will slowly creep down all this week. :hu Absolutely bizarre.

My dog says spring is close - he's shedding his winter coat.

We had much higher temperatures and loads of rain the last 3 days, which turned into snow yesterday evening :hu
