WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

I got two TRASH BAGS FULL of pears this week! :ep :ya So this weekend is devoted to canning. Pear Jelly, Pear Juice, Pear Pie, Pears in Syrup...can anyone think of anything eles?! Help! I've got PEARS!!! :lau

How about a fruit cocktail or mix? I did some fruit cocktail of sorts since we use it for fruit salad & I hate having to buy if I can do it myself...pears, peaches, grapes, marachino cherries & some pineapple...or a mix of whatever you prefer?

Pear butter?

Have you tried pear halves? sliced pears? or pear chunks? Variety is always good...

here's a tip for pealing....wait until they are super ripe . Cut the stem and flower end off, slice and put through a food mill. I just "pealed" a whole crate full of pears this way. I add a little lemon juice to the sauce and froze in premeaured amounts. I defrosted some the other day and made pear jam...came out perfect.

Did you need to cook them at all? I have a load of organic pears and want to make some sauce for my 2 baby nephews. It would be even better if I didn't need to cook them!

Oooo Ok so I got
Pears (Raw)
Pear Juice (Can you make Pear cider? :D )
Pear Jelly
Fruit Mix (Yummy idea!)
Sliced, diced and halves (in light syrup or water?)
Pear Sauce( I could add blueberries too!)

The kitchen is about to get messy and HOT!

And I've got peppers to make pepper jelly with too!!! I better clean out the pantry...

No need to cook if they are super ripe. Just slice them up and squish through the mill.

Maybe mix some pears & peppers together in that jelly? Or even pickled pears & peppers?

Got a dehydrator??? How about some pear leather or even some slices or pieces to add to trail mix, yogurt, ice cream, granola, cereal, etc
