What are you fermenting today?

Are any of the SSers here swapping or sharing Kombucha cultures and a starter?
 
I am sooooo on board with fermenting now. My first batch of kimchi was absolutly amazing!!! I couldn't stop eating it. Another batch is in the works before deli dills. Hmmm what else do i have around here I can ferment????

I started mine by using a bottle of GTs Kombucha from the health store and various instructions found online. It worked fine for me.

My first scoby baby will go to my neighbor. Not sure how many extras to expect to have.

I've never had Kimchi. What recipe did you follow?

I just found my Nourishing Traditions hiding book on a bottom shelf. :D

Yes, just take out what you want to eat for supper and put it in a colander and rinse lightly until it tastes right. Use less salt next time.

Yes we have done that also. Just rinse until it tastes right. It takes a few tries until you get the hang of using the salt.
 
My first ever attempt at fermenting (sauerkraut) has just been placed in the cellar.
