I'd trade for tomatoes, lol! I can't keep the bugs offa the tomatoes to save my life....sigh. I'm hoping maybe I can get some fall 'maters. Maybe the bugs will be gone by then.I wish we could take a bushel off of your hands!
The rings are definitely snackable...lol.FJ - I like that you did some in rings. I didn't even think to do than when I was dehydrating 50(!) lbs(!) of onions!
I love those half-gallon jars. They work great for goat milk too!
InterestingForgot to add that I used Swerve Brown Sugar and Stevia in the recipe with just a touch of real brown sugar. Also cinnamon, nutmeg, and gr. cloves for flavor.
i've also done garlic relish. one year i had about 12lbs of garlic peeled and turned it into sweet and sour garlic relish with a few pepper flakes in for color/decoration and a bit of heat. used a meat grinder to get it minced and cooked it up. the house smelled wonderful to me, Mom had other opinions. ended up with cases of the stuff and ate most of it over the next 5yrs. a friend of mine who liked garlic took a case for herself and shared it around with her friends and many had positive comments. pretty much used it as a hotdog or burger topping and also as an ingredient in all sorts of bbq sauces and other dishes. for me you can't really go wrong with sweet and sour in general...
I like the sounds of crispy cherry tomatoes for salads and other dishes. Will have to give that a try.I sliced my cherry tomatoes when I dehydrated them. Makes them nice for adding to salads and stuff. They also dehydrated really dry and crispy. Getting down to the last of them now.
How do you dry and use celery? I use a lot of celery (in soups and sauces) so I would like to stock it when prices are lower.Okra....again, lol. Probably do some celery also since I've got one in the fridge that needs to be used.
What cut of meat did you use?Smells so good
Uh oh...Ugh, overdid them by an hour or so. Still good, but not great
