What did you do in the garden today?

Depending on where you are, there are often quite a few young people looking to do just that, who don't have the capital to buy land for themselves.
There's numerous land owner to farmer connection websites out there to help put those with land and those who want to work in contact. Some agreements may be leasing, produce share, or whatever works! :)
That's a great idea!

Oh there's also WWOOFing, but if you're not providing any pay, then room and board is usually needed. I've also seen wanted and offering ads along these lines in Kijiji/Craigslist/etc.
Anyway, lots of potential options!

If you love, & have had, the results of a large one - it is hard to cut back. But, honestly, I've enjoyed re-entry on a far smaller scale. Yeah, I'd like more. The thing you have to do is decide what you like BEST, is most used & buy the rest -- find a farmer who sells. Plus, unless you need way more, generally only a few of they plants will give you plenty for fresh use. If you need to can/freeze, then plant or find a buy source. Fewer gives you time to enjoy.

I'd love to find someone like crealbilly to come to my farm, use my land, equipment and manures, etc.....just let me share the produce! Thinking about finding someone like that. I'd help out as it's always more fun when you share.

I would trade knowledge for knowledge any day. I really want to learn about raising livestock - mainly cows. I really want to get a bull calf and two heifers. But I have no flipping idea how to raise/care for them. The last thing I would want is to mistreat them because I didn't know any better... Book learning only goes so far and is nothing at all like "hands on" experience that I need to gain confidence to raise them myself.

PIcked okra and tomatoes again... I'm ready for Fall

Farming......yeah, plenty of farmers around who would love to use, lease, buy my farm. I don't want that. Simply a person/family who wants a LARGE veg garden. Just that. I am not having the crops and chemicals back on here so long as I have it.

Last year a couple people on CL wanted to "use" land. One wanted a couple acres to live in a teepee & have a garden, cow, chickens. That wasn't what I wanted, so didn't respond. Another wanted a garden spot. I contacted him thru CL only and said I'd want to meet him first -- get references, etc. That was that, he dropped it. You have to be careful nowdays! I'm not looking for trouble & I sure don't want to have to shoot anyone.
