More tilling. About half done. Coughed up both lungs, though.

This old hen knows what the tiller means and paid attention as soon as I removed the tarp. She follows about 2 steps behind me.

Hold up, how do you get one year old strawberry plants? Do you pull them out of the ground and replant or what?

the easiest thing i've done is to get some four inch pots and then as a runner goes along weight it down with a few small rocks until it roots and then let the runner go on to the next pot - then at least i didn't have to uproot anything when i wanted to move them. clip the runner into segments and move the plant to where i wanted it to go and put it in the ground (after taking it out of the pot), water and mulch.

just by chance the other day i posted this pic to my bean page - it is of one of my earliest bean patches that had strawberries planted along the edges and i was rooting a bunch of runners for someone who wanted some.

This morning while water tubs were topping off, I walked over to look at my direct sow things....more corn up, squash had one plant up and a few more "pipping" 😊. Then saw some beets had sprouted! Excited with that. We are getting rain now. That will sure help...and more overnight.

Stopped for cat food on way home and there were the seeds! :th🤪🤔. Won't hurt to look right? Whaddya know! They had the round carrot seeds. Only one pack came with me. Such self control!!!!:idunno. I mean I have about 10 packs of Danver half's....but, always wanted these. 🤷

The little garden cart is working well. Water is available across the parking lot at the church main building. I have a set of empty gallon jugs and the boxes they came in. I just tote the cart there, fill up, walk back and water.

12 years of no gardening. I am older and out of shape. The muscles are complaining this morning.

After 2 wks of excruciating pain on my left side of face [trigeminal neuralgia] and right knee [could be some type of neuropathy as well as per pain], I have worked as much as I could outside. Neighbor came and tilled a big area for me. Then hub made my herb raised box, a real raised box I do not have to bend at all.

The Greek oregano is in.

One part of the box is ready waiting for me sister to send me "recao" or also known as culantro or Vietnamese culantro. I really love it. The smell and the flavor is stronger than cilantro.

Planning on planting the tomatoes and the bell peppers on the gound but it is hard. Work 15 min and sit for 25 to rest my knee.

The girls have been out but not helping. They decided to munch on leftover frozen blueberries from last year,lol20220603_133409.jpg

So, this kind of what I have been working on for a few days.
