they are too here, no green grass or anything but i don't see any tracks.

I thought they were poisonous to animals.....

Maybe just poisonous in large quantities?

It's the oxalic acid content that is the toxin. I have watched a rooster repeatedly eat rhubarb leaves without any signs of ill effect. My horse tried it a couple of times and quit because of the taste. He also never showed any ill effects.

What would eat my rhubarb? Deer? Never in 15 years has anything eaten it! What can I do, net it?

My chickens ate the leaves on mine. Stems are toxic to chickens.

Started seed trays. I'll probably second till what I've done in the garden today. If I'm alive after that, I'll start on the other part, but it's still too early to plant what's going over there.

I planted two hills of Early Sugar Pie pumpkins. Planted a few Rattlesnake beans on a short piece of fencing in the area that was previously known as the pig pen. Put a couple feed sacks down between some rows and hid them under some hay. Pulled up the sugar snaps, pulled all the peas off and fed the vines to the goats. They were happy - until they ran out.

Pulled the rest of the carrots. Oh my! I see canning or dehydrating or both in my near future.

Check your information, the stems are not toxic. The high oxalic acid content in the leaves is the toxin.
