What did you do to MAKE money today?

I listed some stuff I do't need on Facebook groups. (I buy and sell A LOT on there!) I need to make some money for my traveling budget!

I made dog bows and dog collar covers from my stash of materials and listed them for sale to a group of dog groomers. Unfortunately there are 2 people undercutting me for price. I hope they run out and my stuff gets a chance.

I decided to do another run of custom portraits. It stresses me out, but not as much as not having money stresses me out!

I have a couple of questions about how you sell things on Facebook, tortoise. I am not on Facebook, but since I now am producing some handcrafted item to sell, I have been told that Facebook is a good place to do it. So---how does a total stranger know to go to your page? Is there a directory that connects you with the things you sell, or do your customers know you and just browse your sale items? I hope I am not hijacking this thread; if so I can start a new one.

Apparently, I have some money at the store. She called me up to check, since they need MORE stock and have a few checks there for me. Guess I'll have to pick up some more jars and get cracking on candles.

The sales are happening in Facebook groups. I'm in one that is specifically buy/sell/barter for dog groomers. Run a search for groups that would be interested in what you sell. The group I'm in has just under 2,000 members. If you don't see a group you like, make one. If there is interest, it will be found. Facebook is much more successful for me than Etsy. Etsy is huge and it is hard to form a relationship. I've become facebook-friends with people in the group and those people that I relate to and converse with are more likely to buy from me.

For example, there is a dog groomer that spins, knits, and weaves. She posted on her personal page (not in the group) that she was $30 short to go to a grooming seminar. So I bought a scarf from her. I'm trying the same stragegy. My budget is short for a grooming competition so I posted that along message with new items for sale.

$6.22 profit, after feed costs and shipping for some eggs. Another turkey egg shipment will go out next week as well. Hopefully I can keep getting orders in until we move so that the turkey eggs don't go to waste. Everything else I can put in the fridge without any remorse, in fact, it'd be nice to keep enough eggs to make some pickled eggs!

Got my taxes done. It was my money to begin with, so I actually didn't make anything, but.....doesn't it count anyway?
