My turnips go to chickens & goats...maybe I should try some myself. What's best cooking hints?

to me they are wimpy cabbage flavor - i like 'em browned on the edges which adds some extra.

I've never tasted a parsnip. I've tried growing them several times, but it's never happened. I wonder if I "weeded" the seedlings?
