Where do you buy your bulk foods?

I do hit Sams Club but sometimes the 'bulk' is too much, like a gigantic jar of something....if I open it I would have to throw most away before I used it. bigger packages and jars of stuff. I could never go thru a 250 oz. jar of Skippy haha

I was wondering if you could transfer the peanut butter into 1/2 pint or pint jars and vacuum seal them? We get the big two packs of Jif for our Sam's Club at a great price, but they are a little much, even for my peanut butter crazy family, so I was curious if it would keep alright if transferred/sealed? Has anyone tried this with other large sized items?
