And these are a couple of eggs done in the Ukrainian way, with wax and various layers of dye to achieve the effect. Ukrainian eggs usually have more geometric designs, I think, but these were done using the same technique. I bought them some years ago at a farmers' market from a young Polish woman. 3 pictures showing different sides of the 2 eggs.

Wow.

I think it's lovely that you've preserved your girls' first eggs. And your grandmother's work is beautiful.

Those are so fancy! I haven't been able to find my special egg here, I think it is packed away in my Christmas box unfortunately (it was a holiday theme). That is the only place I can imagine putting it.

Those are some mighty fancy eggs!
