Sleeping and eating. I can't seem to do enough of either at the moment. When I'm stressed I can't eat and I lost a lot of weight over the last few months, so I'm happily making up for that now. I even baked cookies:

No, MIL is staying here. I offered to let her stay with us there and she refused and I said "thank you" quietly and didn't ask again ;)

i think the earnest money is a great idea, why didn't we think of that sooner. if they say no for any reason then you can move on to the next person. good going baymule. and my sayings are "jack, the bear makes big tracks but goes no where" or "talks cheap but whiskey costs money" and last but not least "put your money where your mouth is"

Friday's people are undecided and decided to rent a house while they look around a bit more. But… I spoke to the good agent yesterday and she told me her people are definitely buying our place as soon as they've sold their cottage. There are a number of these small cottages in town and most have been beautifully restored and are very popular weekend and holiday get-aways. They also listed it at a very attractive price, which should help things along a bit. The agent told me she sold a similar one recently within 2 hours of listing it :bow So we are hopeful that that cottage will sell soon and the owners will then proceed to buy our place. Provided we don't sell to someone else in the meantime, in which case they are going to hang on to the cottage… Incentive for the agent? ;)

Oh sumi, I hope and pray that their cottage sells quickly. I guess I'd better start saving my money for plane tickets to Ireland..... :thumbsup

We closed on old house Wednesday February 11, moved 3 days later on Saturday. I wasn't even through packing! Had to go back for dogs, chickens and more stuff. New place looks like explosion at a box factory. It will take awhile to get every thing sorted out. I had just finished floors in new house and got started packing for move. Finished painting inside of kitchen cabinets yesterday and hung pantry door racks. Once kitchen is in order I'll feel much better. On cell, no internet yet. Missing y'all!

Something really strange and wonderful happened. I think I mentioned here back in November I looked at a house that was for sale a stone's throw from where we lived in Ireland? It is priced way over my budget, but I impulsively emailed the agent who had it listed and asked him if the owners might be willing to negotiate something? I've spoken to this agent in person when we were looking at rentals and I found him very nice and helpful, which is sadly not something I can say about many Irish agents… But back to the present. I received an email from him 2 days ago, 4 months after I emailed him! He wanted to know if I'm back in Ireland and still interested in a buying a property, so I updated him in brief on the situation here around our sale and told him I am looking at properties and would like to work with him if he's interested in helping me find something? He responded promptly and positively :) I send him my list of requirements, minimum land size, house size, the location I'm looking at, etc. I'm waiting to hear more from him now. :fl

Gosh, I hope so… We underpriced this place, hoping for a quick sale, but people are so ridiculously fussy. We had loads of "lookers" who were probably just interested because of the low price, but had unrealistic expectations, I don't know? I hope one of our buyers will get their ducks lined up soon, so we can get a move on.
