That was a great price on the trees! They sound wonderful. I'm sure you'll find the perfect spot for them on your property, somewhere the goats and horses can't get to, ideally!

Umm, so the rain came... I now have water standing in my hillside garden :th

However, my plants look better and my okra and cucumbers are sprouted. I will have to till up the corn and replant. A few sweet potatoes need to be replaced as well. The beans will need re planted in spots.

Hopefully, by the end of next week (supposed to rain all weekend) I can do my re plants. Then sow my winter squashes, lima beans, and watermelon.

Well, you may find the seeds have traveled and will be sprouting "out of the lineup". I've had that happen, even on flat land.

We had a cloud burst this afternoon. My kitchen got flooded, the neighbour's house got flooded (they didn't realise the drain was blocked by moss that knocked off the roof by the rain). I went outside after cleaning up and saw 100's of little grass sprouts up! They must've been lying in wait for this water now, it was so lovely to see. I was out there earlier pulling weeds and no sign of life, the rains came and BOOM, there they are!

That's how it is here....think all the weeds are taken care of, then the next rain gives you a whole other crop of them.

We've been getting rains nearly every day. It's pouring down right now....I waited all morning for the rain and it didn't come as predicted, so I got out there to start putting plants in the garden~then the skies opened up. Never fails.

At least I got some epsom salts put on all the plants before that happened. Hopefully I can still put plants in between showers. Found some really healthy looking replacement peppers to plug into the spots where the cut worms got mine. Also putting some annuals into the flower beds today if I get a chance.

Got my hot peppers replaced with other seedlings today~most of my original seedlings were wiped out by a cut worm. Planted some in the spaces left by the death of the others and planted the rest directly into my rotting hay bales around raised beds. It's VERY warm in that hay and very moist, so they should do okay there...I hope.

I'll be in trouble if they get really big and have no support in those melting hay bales, may have to stake them then.

Spuds and pepper plants in the bales.

This bed has sweet onions, carrots and turnips(which need thinned), but also has hot peppers planted in the bales, as well as a butternut squash and a beefsteak tomato, along with a few petunia plants.

I placed straws around the stems of the smallest peppers planted into the soils and hay but haven't got a chance to do so in those planted into the bales. Not sure if a cut worm would travel up those bales to get to those, but I'll keep a watch on them.

Got a flat of annuals planted into the front flower beds and planted a few petunias into my hay bales too, just for funzies. Got a pot of annuals planted for the front porch too.

Also planted the rest of my spuds into a fence ring, layering in chicken compost, hay and leaves on top. Also did the same in the commode in the garden...should be fun to see if I can grow spuds in a commode.

My low tunnel and the green growing under there~romaines, pak choi, napa cabbage.

Spud rings are doing well with all this rain, growing like weeds and blooming already....

Flash, my garden buddy. Had a bath this morning in flea and tick shampoo and had his ears treated for mites, so he solarized the rest of the day to recover from it all.

Planted a grape tomato plant (I have no self control at the hardware store) and weeded a raised bed. My summer squash are coming up good, and the weeds are too. Woo hoo! :barnie

I bought replacement sweet potato plants. I had four die, and I managed to get five new ones before they quit selling plants.

Lots of planting, tilling, mulching and fertilizing when the soil dries out after I get back from a work related trip this week.

I weeded my spring/fall garden this morning with my WEED WACKER. It's still a big mud hole and yep you guessed it... more rain, raining right now.

Same here, except with lower temps than yours. I'm rejoicing over that!!!! I can get so much more work done when I'm not gasping in front of a fan.

Raining here now. Rest of week (while I work!) ? Yep, sunny and nice. It was overcast this AM so I wanted to work a few hrs knowing rain was coming. Went to town to get a saw blade, gas for mower & car, outside flood light for one out over barn door. Early, had planned to cut a couple sections of plywood to repair/rework an older coop to use, wanted to cut grass in a little section not done yesterday....catch & move some birds. Home, new blade on, find saw in reverse & can't get it changed. Fill mower with gas, look & see rear tire almost flat. Can't drive it....use gas push mower, get minimal necessary done. Then, it rains!! Virtually nothing done. :( If it stops I will go out & plant corn!! Not a downpour but too wet to work in or cut grass. :he

Pastures are loving it! :) Goats in barn looking out....they were grazing when it started and stampeded to their barn. Minis eating grass & chickens eating bugs & worms. Good. The don't care if it's drizzling.

BeeKissed -- I love that white cat!!
