I think what you guys should do is go stay there for a few weeks and see how you do. I'd also try to stay on your own current place for a few weeks and not go anywhere, for anything! Pretend you are cut off from everything and see how you do. That will give you a taste of what it would be like to do it for real and for long periods at a time.
