Elwood and family's journal of our ss journey

Sorry to hear about your wife, and about the snafu on the camper... but I believe it's because a better solution is in the offing. Don't turn away from the idea of a camper, if a bargain should happen to cross your path. Even if you have your permanent home already, a camper or small trailer could be useful as guest accommodations... or additional living quarters when your son gets old enough to start hankering after a "place of his own"... or even emergency housing in case of a disaster like a fire.

Our new house is home!
Now to start finishing it out

I'm curious about how you will hook up plumbing... precautions to keep pipes from freezing. I've been talking with hubby about the option of putting something similar, though smaller on the other side of our property as an "in-law" or possible rental. Granted, our freezing pipes issue would be much different, but... I imagine the hook up would be similar. Are you installing a septic system, going with standard waste water management? Or are you doing a grey water system, and a composting toilet, or some other system???
