wow what a weekend. Saturday I decided I would change my central heat and air system. it's aged, undersized for the house and really drives up the electric bill. got started tearing it out and a guy shows up with a truckload (no joke) of big carp and drum. there was a bow fishing tournament Friday night and I got the spoils. spent an hour or so digging trenches in the garden and got them all buried. then back at it. worked on it until 10 last night and I finally finished today at 3.

the old unit was a 10 seer 2 ton ac with electric heat. went back with a 14 seer 3 ton heat pump. I sure hope it shaves the electric bill. time for an Epsombath!

Holy Cannolli! that's a lot of stuff to get crammed into one weekend! But, I'm sure it'll be worth it when you're sitting inside the A/C in a couple months when it's about 140 degrees outside.

the best the old one could do is maintain 78 and it never shut off.

next project is a clothes line!!....if I can get the wife on board.

love most clothes from line dry -- oh, especially sheets!

But a few things I would rather dry. What I am not as thrilled with is the put up & take down of clothes on the line. Does help with electric bill, especially with a family the size of yours.

Always used a line when kids were small & at home. Yep, we had cloth diapers to fold. No dryer. In fact, my first washer was one from a laundromat. Had coin box out but had to use dimes to start it. A friend of ours worked at a little mat & when owner put in new machines he let him have this old one for us. Hey, it worked! Was the right price -- FREE. We also had no A/C and a floor furnace.

My clothes line is in the dog yard. Dogs leave the clothes alone, but the dog bombs are always a problem for me...
I love clothes dried on a clothesline - I just pop them in the dryer for a couple of minutes with a damp towel and it softens them right up, lol.
