Wow! That looks awesome.

Here is a photo of mine. I think they are six weeks old. I feel like I have had them for a million years. I have 1 1/2 bags of feed left. I may grab another bag or two. They seem smaller than normal.

@BarredBuff Those look great! Nice and clean, fully feathered - beautiful birds. Bet they feel like bowling balls if you pick one up, they are nearly as big as the headless chicken you have in there with them, lol.

There are 26 left. The tractor is in deep shade now. It’s getting hotter, they are bigger and putting out a lot of heat. Tomorrow we slaughter 13 more.

They just lay around all day and night anyways... Except when there is food, then they come alive. They are the ultimate couch potato.

Thanks! They are the healthiest bunch and cleanest I have ever raised. The smell is not that bad either.

The headless chicken was hit by a car, and lived! She has been recovering with the meat birds. Still lays well too!

We have 7 more on ice. I’m going to package these up. We plan on doing 8 tomorrow. 4 seems to be the magic number on getting them scalded before the water gets cold. So we’ll break them in 2 batches of 4.

No chicken slaughter today. Rain is predicted by the weather liars, I don't want a bunch of dead chickens and it starts raining. That is one job that I will not do in the house! So I'll work in the garden today.

We killed, plucked, and gutted 24 Cornish rock crosses today. It only took us about five hours. It went great. I am going to vacuum seal in the morning.
