Nicely done! You've been downsizing your herd for a year or more, right? So how many are left? Shall we place bets? šŸ¤£
I'd be in the negative numbers if I'd stop breeding, lol! I could be really happy if I sold maybe 3 more. But those would have to be does and it's hard to decide which ones to give the boot. I love (most of) my does, lol. And, breeding is happening right now. I'm doomed, lol!

That was real fast. Congrats.
Thanks! It was relatively pain free. I don't usually enjoy folks coming to my place, but these guys were quick. In and out in about 15 minutes. Told me to call them if I had more to sell.

I've trained two new milkers this year...actually in the last month or so. They are both doing very well. One of them is a Kinder/X - the other is a Nubian. I've got one more Nubian who is still nursing a baby. I need to pull her baby and maybe I'll get her stand trained also. It definitely makes them easier to sell and adds to the price. She's got a nice udder but smallish teats. It would kill my hands to milk her, but the machine doesn't mind!

Need to mow the yard today...not so much the grass but the weeds...ugh. Need to mow the pasture also, but the tractor battery is dead. Hate that! Put the charger on it and nuttin'. Just dropped a bundle replacing a tire and now the battery! This tractor better be careful.... the shiny new ones are pretty tempting. (no, no, no....)

I'm going to try my hand at jelly making today (if I find time). I've made preserves, but never jelly. I've got a big jug o' grape juice in the pantry that's about to expire so I'll start with that. I'll be trying a low-sugar recipe and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have beginners luck. :fl

So very pleased with how Belle has been maturing and growing in her guardian instincts. I had my doubts about her for awhile because she was just soooo laid back. She seemed to wake up several weeks back when the wayward pig was roaming the neighborhood. She saw Missy and Cowboy go nuts on that pig and it really made an impression on her. She is 'on it' now. She is so in love with, and attentive to, her goats that I can hardly get near them without her getting in between me and them. She's had a growth spurt lately so since this pic was taken I've had DH increase her feed and she's really filled out nicely.

best wishes for DH's procedure and observation time. be safe and take good care of each other. :)
Thanks!

raise those prices! :)
I've thought about it. But, they're off of my feed bill now so that's a bonus. These were intact males so they just needed to move on. I price females differently for sure and won't be so willing to adjust my prices.
