I hope this passes by your home and stops on no one. You sure don’t need this in your family. I pray for your safety.

Predatory lending. College Lon’s are the very worst, out in front, leading the pack. A loan that doesn’t have to be repaid until you graduate is like manna from Heaven, but turns into spawn of Satan. Their dirty little secret is that the INTEREST starts immediately, compounded, and the amount grows like a cancerous tumor. On one loan, our DD has paid on it for 10 years and has paid in interest alone more than 3 times the original amount. If that’s not evil, I don’t know what is. They are making very good money in Odessa, good enough that they can live on his pay and use hers to pay debt. It sure will help.

We took out a loan for her and even though I started payments right away, I was getting nowhere. For years. It wasn’t until we paid off our old house and car loans so I could send $1,000 to $1,500 a month that I was able to pay it off. If I paid extra, the extra was credited to a future payment, another trick to keep one mired in debt, I wrote TWO checks. One for the payment, one for the principal and I stapled a note on the extra check with the instructions to apply it to the principal. Paying that off felt indescribable.

There is definitely some shady lending targeting college-bound!!!! I agree 100% there. So sad young people dont get educated on personal finance!!! Forget Geometry and Algebra 2! Require 2 years (4 semesters) of personal finance for all students! Help the understand loan terms so they dont get preyed upon. (And deal with the predatory lenders too).

The personal finance classes need to be in High School, before they even go to college.
I have a problem with the kids getting tied down in huge loan amounts and ending up with a nothing degrees. A friends daughter ended up with a BA degree from a well known college - I asked her what kind of job she could get with that degree she said "Day-care worker or nanny". What?! 4-years of college to be a nanny? At least she didn't have much for loans because her parents had saved for her to go to college since she was born.

We are financially educated, we both know the ins and outs. I have to say that I did not have anything to do with the loans, my husband dealt with it and co signed for our DSIL on a loan also. Would I have caught it? I don't know. If it did say that interest started on day 1 of the loan, it had to be in language that you'd have to be an attorney to decipher. Our DSIL is no slouch either, we all got taken for a ride.

It's not that kids are taking out loans for 2 hundred thousand, that's how much they owe after graduating and paying the minimum payment. They watch helplessly as the amount grows faster than they can pay it back.

One of my ears cleared up since starting OTC meds. The other is worse. My resting heart rate has increased in the last 3 days and I cant ignore the pain. Time for telehealth and antibiotics. 😐

i hope it all helps! ear aches are miserable things to have happen.

The fluid in my ear has cleared up. The tinnitus is still there. I still have a wicked sore throat - unrelated.

One of my 3 silky hens laid an egg! 😲 surprise! Yay!!!! 3 eggs a day will help! The egg is bigger than I expected.

WooHoo! I want some Silkies! I love them! Some time ago I ordered "silky" eggs from ebay. Got 6, 1 hatched and it was nowhere near being a silky, lol. Looked like a white Japanese with the upright tail and all. And, of course it was a roo.... sigh. I think one of my standard sized roosters finally ate him for breakfast or he ran away from home.
