Was on the way home from the volunteer gig tonight, swung by the community plot location. Equipment there is gone and it looked like (in the fading light) plots were marked out maybe... hopefully soon
Around here many say don't set out hardies until memorial day. I say, have it your way But if I waited until memorial day, I would really feel.like I was behind... What USDA zone are you in? 6A?

I only feel behind on the early seed plantings, peas, lettuce, carrots, and beets. I am okay with waiting until the end of the month for setting out plants. Just anxious to get my fingers in the dirt

I hear you on the fingers in the dirt thing. Just something about caring for and watching plants grow that I really enjoy. Just not sure what that something is?

Today I was really happy to be able to give extra pepper plants away m. Usually when I pull the doubles I just leave the extras in the row to wilt. Occasionally I leave an unplanted row and transplant the extras into the empty row. But I'm working off my wife's list this year and had no extra space. I can only have one pepper plant per hole or they won't make at all. This year I found a taker for the extra pepper plants. This turned a sad day for peppers into a happy day for peppers.

Please keep us posted on the garden progress, I think we most all enjoy reading and looking at pictures of everyone elses garden and canning from the garden also. When it was cold and wet outside, I was inspired by FEM's garden pictures. Got me motivated and as soon as the soil could be worked I hit the ground running 😂

My transplanted tomatoes are standing tall and happy! Hoping it stops raining each day and the sun comes out for the weekend. I want to get my hands in the dirt again. 😁. Lot of seeds to get out. More transplants. I even have my string and stakes ready to mark rows. Woohoo.

I have a long grow season, so not stressing time. But I did miss cold crops for spring. Always Fall...👍😁

not much here today, it is raining and is supposed to rain all day and be in the 50s. they are saying humid and high 70s/low 80s for the weekend so I am hoping stuff takes off! I saw field corn up on the way home from taking kids this morning, barley there but you can see it.

i was planning on getting out and getting more weeding done, nope. the forecast changed a few days ago from rain after 2pm today to rain after 5pm, but it started raining around 11am. Mom had gone out to work on her project and came in a bit later and just shook her head at me. Subtitle --> "So much for your weather forecast!" it is still raining... i've got a nice fat book to finish reading and am soaking my feet in warm vinegar water. a few more minutes and i can get them scraped and then get the tea tree oil between a few toes. it's just one of those days... ok with me. at least i don't have to water the peas or bean sprouts.
