well, my best friend and I clipped coupons. Then we went shopping! Over two days we spent $200.00 but saved over $400.00! :ep A lot of the stuff was FREE or was very little cost! And it was all stuff we use!
Well, I think my worms have escaped. I can't find any in the worm bed, but I have found LOTS out in the yard where there didn't used to be any at all! Since that's where they were going to end up anyway, I guess it's ok.
I make hade crocheted items mostly. Some are special order (want a certain pattern, yarn type, etc.) Also I make hand knitted items and sewn items. I have made candles, soap, sugar scrubs, and lip balms as well. For throws/afghans I have charged $50-$75. Baby things are usually $5 per item, and...
hit yard sales and estate sales. look for old broken jewelry. Many are glad to get rid of it for little or nothing. And if it is real gold or silver you can turn it in for quite a few $$$!
There are several people I work with who want me to make/sell them some items. My question is how do I determine a fair price? I don't want to cheat anyone, but I also don't want to be taken advantage of either. Some of the items I have sold people gave me more than I asked for and said I was...
DH bought me a TON of yarn at a yardsale for $10.00. Als. got me a bunch of knitting supplies at another for $5. I'm taking free knitting classes at church, so most of this winter's wardrobe and Christmas will cost next to nil! Also went through my jewelry box and pulled out all the broken gold...
:celebrate My bees came today! Now I'll be able to have fresh honey without having to pay those outragious prices! not to mention having bee's wax for candles! 'Course it'll take a while, since I only had enough money for one nuc. But it's a start! :))
I strained it when I rendered it, used paper napkins, but if it will work I'll try melting it and re-straining it. It's possible the heat was too high, but I put it as low as it would go. The soap would mostly be for us, but I thought of selling some at a local fair. Except I don't want it to...
when you can hoe a garden, feed the chickens, and bake a pone of cornbread all while having a toddler on your hip, and a four-year-old hanging on your leg, with a 'bun in the oven'.
I rendered some lard for the first time, but I think maybe I did something wrong. Instead of it being nice and white the results look a bit 'muddy', almost more like bacon grease. What did I do wrong? :( And can it be fixed? If not and I try to make soap from this, will the soap come out right...
Reminds me of my youngest DD. 'How can yuo eat them poor animal? And eating those eggs is just EUWWIE!' This from a 28 yo who is chowing down on a hamberger from McD's at the time!
I told her that at least I knew my animals had had the best possible life they could, plenty of fresh...
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!:ep Around here piglets go for about $35.00. Unless you are looking for something with papers and proper bloodlines like 'Sired by Sir Hogsalot out of Lady Pigeeta' or some such. But if you want some pigs for bacon and porkchops you don't have to go for that! Check...
