That IS a lot - even if you only get 50% hatch. I see different colored eggs in there so are they just a 'barn yard mix' or something else?

There will be some rhode island reds, buff Orpington, black sex links, and a bunch of crosses like barred/buff, rir/buff, rir/white leghorn, etc.

That's a good load there! Heck, I've got 40something hens and lucky to get 10 eggs a day. Of course, I could fill 3 pillows with feather stuffing. :D These gals are still laying "some" in molt but wow, what a scruffy look bunch!! They are between bald, pin feather base, fluff -- I'm ready for it to end.

Can't wait to see how those hatch out. I have one hen with ONE chick  and one hen who will NOT give up broody, so I gave her 6 eggs :idunno what the heck. Her feathers are 1/2 in so by time they hatch she will be good looking again. She's hatched for me before and a good mom.

This spring i got easter eggers and whote leghorns from the feedstore. The leghorns are laying but no eggs from yhe easter eggers. I think they may be bad birds.

I'd probably like the way they lay...but I've heard they're kinda high-strung and flighty? I like calm chickens!
