well there's not much to report on the homestead. we are still waiting on the meat birds I Ordered from the feed store.

I'm 2 lbs lighter than the last time I posted. been working out hard all week and trying something called intermittent fasting. it's basically where you don't eat for 16 hours a day. I skip breakfast, eat lunch and dinner and then don't eat after 8. it's been tough and I dont think it's something ill do very long. I need that bowl of oatmeal in the mornings. lol! I don't really sleep well on this diet. I wake up ready to go about 4am everyday and then I'm really tired later so I've been just going to the gym at 5am. all the exercise has really helped my stress levels! that's what keeps me going.

other than that I've been trying to buy and eat more heart healthy stuff. evidently salmon and other fish have high amounts of some omega 3 that is good for heart disease so I've been eating more of that. I don't really care for salmon but okay.

the big test is Monday in Austin. from what i hear Austin has no water and very little electricity. I'm assuming other resources are thin as well.

I've prepped the truck to head out as best as I can. got new tires today, fresh oil change, new wiper blades, and a new serpentine belt.
I'll have my tool box kit as always which includes a very extensive tool kit, and then a 24 inch pipe wrench, 3 lb axe, take down buck saw, chains, shovel, funnels, sledge hammer, bolt cutters, tarp, rope, and idk what else.

I added my bug out bag which has everything I might need for a camping trip less tent or sleeping bag.

then I threw in a couple sleeping bags, propane cook top, lantern, and a couple bottles propane. on top of that a bunch of food and drinks. looks like I'm going camping.

idk if there will be much gas to be had so I'm leaving with a full tank and taking 17 gallons in the back of the truck. 3 five gallon gas cans, and a 2 gallon. it's strapped down very well and secure...as lomg as I don't get rear ended by a semi it should be ok and I have almost enough to go down there and make it back. I can get close enough to habe a buddy pick me up anyway..

and then I have the boring overnight bag with clothes and a toothbrush.

I have reservations at a hotel, but there aren't many rooms available so I'm prepped to sleep in the truck if I need to.

the in-laws think I'm crazy but I'd rather have it and not need it than the other way around.

the hard part is the 8 hour test. yall wish me luck
