Thanks Gina! I hope to get some good photos of them at some point to share.
That's it exactly, SD! And wow it is cold right now!! The winds are whipping at about 10mph, with higher gusts - expected to be at 25-30mph with higher gusts on into the night. It is also raining, a little sleet mixed in so they are warning of icy bridges and such. There are a bunch of crazy people with driver licenses (and without) on the roads here so I am glad I don't live far from work.
I am sitting here worrying about my critters though. For the most part the chicken house is ok, but that eastern wall is just full of gaps. It is about 8ft or so away from the roosts, so maybe they'll be ok. I may put a tarp inside tonight when I get home, it's just a matter of figuring out how to hang it up.
I left Skye in her blanket, she doesn't do wind / rain so I am not too concerned about her being out and getting the blanket wet. I'll have to get her "warm apple water" to her when I get home, so I'll check her then.
Garden question (I'm a dimwit, I'll admit it freely) - what is the pea that grows on a vine - it is a tiny green pea that you get like in store bought pot pies etc. I know we call them English peas or Sweet peas but what are they called to buy seeds? Would they be considered "garden peas" or "snow peas"?
