Thank you, everyone!

Aly, you have no idea how appropriate that verse is right now.....everyone thinks I've lost my marbles getting this cow! I just have to tell them it wasn't my choice, but God's---which then earns me "the look"....you know the one!
She travelled well and I went real slow down that mountain....1st gear, four wheel drive engaged! Fortunately, no one got behind me all the way home.

She rode the whole way with her head over the racks, looking around. I took that as a good sign. Of course, my truck was coated with her thin, green poo which made for some pretty icky cleanup time. I made the boys do it! (Mother's Day, ya know!)
I was too busy enjoying my first cow (as an adult)!
I'm still at work, so I will try to download later, when I get home. The pics turned out good enough, we'll see how clear they download to this site. You will be able to get a good "before" look at my poor, neglected old girl. She's soooooo sweet!
The cattle racks were perfect and never squeaked or shifted once....and, of course, according to God's design....the side panel that we were going to implement as a gate to the pen was a perfect fit. It's always amazing to me, how God works....its so exact and perfect!
She loves the sweet feed but I'm just giving her a little, for now, but will work her up to a little more each day. I am watching her closely for signs of gas, bloating, discomfort from eating this grass. Its pretty tall, so it might have reached its top sugar level and declined somewhat since. She has a good variety of types of grass, with plenty of roughage worked in in the form of saw grass, a few thistles, etc. Her pen has very little legumes in it. It can't be any worse than what she has been on.....sparse pasture but all new grass, hence the diarrhea. My grass has grown past the "S" curve, so it may not hurt her as much.....will have to wait and see.
I will tell you, girls, it feels good to see her, with her neat little Jersey head and face looking over the fence. She seems to really like my middle son...but then, all animals seem to be drawn to him. Good thing he is going to school to become a vet!
Will tell you more later! I'm just overwhelmed with the thought of this cow ownership thingy, but I have faith that God will see His project through, so I don't worry too much.
I hope she has the calf while I'm at home and I hope we all get to witness it!
