They certainly are! Isn't it weird how God can take something that should be tragic and turn it into a blessing?

When my D2 was working in dietary at a local nursing home she came home with a funny story one night. Evidently there were these two tiny little frail old ladies that had a disagreement that evening at supper time. She said both ladies were always quiet and reserved and very polite - VERY much ladies. One of them was always carrying her Bible and often quoted scripture. The both walked very feebly with walkers and had always shared the same table at meal time.

On the night in question, they had a little disagreement ... which escalated into a BIG disagreement ... which escalated into a HUGE FOOD FIGHT! She said both little old ladies were up on their feet YELLING and CUSSING like sailors :ep ! They were throwing food at each other and even their silverware and plates! The only thing that kept it from being a true brawl was the fact that neither of them could walk well enough to get around the table. :gig

People may get old, but often times we find out that they aren't dead yet.

Glad your dad could knock some sense into his room mate Bee! :thumbsup

Picked up a dog that had been dumped out in the country today. I'll advertise him in the locals but I doubt I'll get a response. He is a quiet, nice dog of mutt breeding and it was pretty obvious he wasn't just roaming or lost....he was searching cars for his owners. I'd say he is about 8 years old, has some arthritis in his hips but still moves pretty good.

Jake has been lonely but I don't know if this will be the dog for him...I get the impression this dog has been tied outside by himself and probably in town, as he got very excited each time we went through a town on the way home. He is very shy and doesn't seem to welcome Jake's company.

I feel sorry for the old guy and wonder who would just dump off a nice, old dog like this. Each good dog I've had was not wanted by someone else....who knows? He might just work out here and thrive with good care and a bouncy younger friend like Jake.

I called him Ben and I will keep him if no one claims him. I'll probably post pics at local grocery stores and with the local vets/animal shelters.

It is amazing to see how a little love and some decent vittles can turn around a dog as well.

When my D1 found her mini beagle Doogle, she was a bony belly crawling mess. Terrified of people especially men. Poor thing must have had some terrible abuse. We even thought she was a older dog at first, but she was just so starved and sick it was hard to see that she was really a young girl. So sad to be unwanted and abused.

Now she is very happy to live with my daughter. I am sure your Ben will blossom as well.

Yeah...this sure is a nice dog. Hate to see him thrown away....he doesn't like being around Jake, though, so I don't know if this is the home for him.

I need prayers for the strength to have faith and for guidance in the next step....I quit my job today. :)

YAY!
:weee Doesn't it feel good?

Thank you, ladies, for keeping me in prayer. It was definitely in God's will that this happen at this time, so I'm not upset over it...it was just time. My boys are going through a few changes as well, as their landlord decided they need to move out so he can rent their place to the electric company for their employees. They are discouraged by this, short hours at work, car troubles and career holdups.

Me? I've had the luxury of going through seemingly hard times before and have learned one very valuable thing after many times....God always saves you in the nick of time! Not before, not too late....RIGHT on time. All through the Bible is story after story of God's people being tried by one thing or another and their faith is thus put to the test...and right when it seems they are defeated by superior numbers, they will have to sacrifice their son, their city will be destroyed, their ship will perish in the storm~God snatches them to safety and good things at the last minute.

What is that verse about God knowing what He has in store for us and it is to profit us and not to harm us? I believe that very much!

I'm praying that I will stay strong in faith and not try to manage or manipulate my next steps in life out of fear of the future and also that my boys will grow strong in faith. I've told them that faith doesn't grow out of good times, as it is easy to have faith and trust in God when everything is sweetness and light, but much harder when the lights go out and you land on a hard place.

It is hard to keep the faith sometimes, like you said Bee. But I agree, it always seems to work out for the best. Since I have found this faith, it has reduced my stress level immensely. I just have to remind myself, that someone else has a greater picture of things and I have to trust that it will work out the way it should.
My mom has been "visiting" and I feel blessed that we have been able to provide her with a sanctuary and a healing place. Having faith sure helps me stay patient too

Great news on the job! :celebrate

Oh oh, little grandson just woke up from his nap. I better go and get his bottle ready. He is such a slave driver ;) Good thing he is so cute.

FD, Mom AND grandson? YOu've got your hands full! :D I can't wait to have grandsons!!!! :weee

I'll be visiting my mom next week and helping her rearrange her cabin a little....I hope to post before and after pics as we hope to do a makeover on a shoestring budget. She needs a little color, a little light, a little comfort in that big ol' room.

Don't you just love moms? :love
