C'mon chicken experts! What's wrong with my flock??

I can check around for you, I know someone in the High Point area and she went to a cow specialist.

As for the medicine, either way. I stick 'em between my thighs (if I can sit a bucker, I can sit a chicken!) Grab the top of the neck w/ one hand, pry their beak open with a finger then squirt! Right down the hatch ;) I don't tip their head too far for fear of inhaling it.

Also my girl is getting, uh, I know ones on medicam...baytril! That's the polishes meds.

Okay, now I'm even more worried. Another of my hens is acting strange, kind of lethargic...I mean, she's just standing there, staring. I went to give them their afternoon treats, put some right in front of her, & she just ignored it. The other two pecked & scratched, this one just stood there. Their treats from lunch time (corn, apple) are only half eaten.

Back to being worried sick again!!! :hit

Okay, update...tell me if this isn't strange...

I went to check on my Wierdo chicken, she was standing in one of the nesting boxes. Just standing. Not sitting like she was going to lay. Just...standing.

Two hours later I go out to lock up the coop (after dark), & on a hunch take a flashlight with me. She's in the EXACT same spot...just standing in the box.

I don't know if this was the right thing to do, but I picked her up & set her on the roost. She was a little wobbly but stayed there.

Anyone ever see THAT before?? I'm really at my wits end with this bunch! :hit

Ok, time to take bigger measures.
This is what I would do. Feel free to modify as needed.

Try and get them all in a different and clean place.
Garage maybe? Or temporary pen on porch.
Give them all a syringe full of yogurt with a few drops of clo.
If you have any kombucha around, add some to their water.
Use any other meds and dusting powders you are inclined to use.
Warm oats is a good food.

Clean the coop out fully.
Spritz everything with diluted bleach water. Scrub whatever you can, including the feed and water containers.
Add fresh bedding.

Give all the hens a full going over. Beak to claws to tail tip.
Pics may help us as well.

Just got an email from my local chicken expert. He suspects Marek's. I'm absolutely devastated.

Oh boy. :hugs

Get it verified asap, and start sanitizing.

Thank you, BB. Don't know how I'm going to get a wink of sleep tonight. I'm in shock.

Be careful about visitors and seeing anyone else that might have chickens.
You'll get through this!
